The WSU Chi Alpha Staff
I pioneered Chi Alpha@WSU in August of 1993. Prior to that I was on staff with Chi Alpha at Western Washington University for 2 years. It was a part-time position while I was going to seminary at Regent College in Vancouver B.C. I also Interned in Campus ministry at Western in 1986/87 & again in 1990/91.
Everything excites me about campus ministry! I love that I get to be a part of shaping WSU students understanding of God & their relationship to Christ. I am honored to be entrusted with the lives of amazing students who I know will be world changers. I am privileged to be able to be a part of God's plan to mature students into young men & women who take seriously the call to Make Disciples.
I love playing golf, road cycling, watching Star Trek TNG, and I’m a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien. I have read or listened to the audio book of the Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings at least 30 times since college.
Steve and Tami
Shanon grew up in Nebraska and went to the U of Nebraska-Kearney, earning a degree in Secondary Education. Her passion for ministry to college students comes out of her own experience in college where she found Chi Alpha, dedicated herself to the Lord in her sophomore year, was invited into various leadership roles, and was blessed to have many people pouring God’s life into her. Shanon comes to WSU Chi Alpha having spent the last 11 years as part of the Chi Alpha staff team
at Western Washington University.
"I so enjoy teaching the Word of God and watching students cultivate a love for the scriptures. My favorite parts of campus ministry include leading small groups and meeting 1:1 with students - these are, in my opinion, two of the most significant places where students encounter Jesus and grow in relationship with Him."
She is thrilled to be a Coug and enjoys watching sunsets, reading in quaint coffee shops, playing sports (racquetball and softball are two of her favs) and strolling through cemeteries (it's not as morbid as it sounds).
Haley is an alumni from Central Washington University where she first got involved in Chi Alpha as a student. God greatly impacted her life during her time in Chi Alpha and gave her a heart for others to know him. Haley did two years of her CMIT internship at Central, growing and learning how to reach out to college students. She joined Chi Alpha @ WSU in the Fall of 2019. She loves meeting one on one with students, fostering real relationships and helping students grow in their faith and relationship with God. She loves any type of food but especially ethnic food and loves to read, hike, bike and knit in her free time.
Student RSO Officers
Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship @ WSU is also a Registered Student Organization at WSU. Student Officers serve a vital role as liaison between Chi Alpha and WSU, and help enable the mission to be XA Cougs and reach the campus for Jesus.
